Cannonball Adderley’s “Waltz for Debby” is the first song I remember to recognise as a child. The first part of my Jazz Trio illustration series is vaguely inspired by his striking figure.
The Bass (or Double Bass) is one of my favourite instruments in Jazz. Its deep, confessional voice and the way the player must embrace it has always grabbed my attention.
Having played the piano myself, jazz pianists have always had my greatest admiration. This print is my homage to the elegance of this central instrument in jazz music.
From an imagined viewpoint in the middle of the river, Lisbon Downtown appears as an intricate puzzle of red rooftops and colourful buildings, with landmarks popping up here and there. A city over a thousand years in the making.
